We already knew that Black Friday was a big day for gun sales. Now the FBI has proved it by releasing figures that show a record-setting number of background checks were processed that day.

This year the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) processed 185,713 transactions the day after Thanksgiving. FBI spokesman Stephen Fischer Jr. told NBC News that was above the FBI’s forecast of approximately 180,000. The previous record was 185,345, so this year’s number represents an increase of .2 percent. Good job folks.
