In Janesville, a city (and county) in Wisconsin, concealed carry permit holders will soon be allowed to carry their weapons on public buses. They previously were barred from doing so.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled last week that Madison Metro Transit could not continue to prevent individuals who had concealed carry permits from carrying them on the public buses. Madison Metro Transit system director Rebecca Smith said the organization would update their guidelines following this ruling.

The ruling was announced on March 17. Smith said it would take them a few days to update their policies. She anticipated that the new policy would go into effect by March 24 or early in the week of March 31.

The city of Janesville still will not allow weapons in city buildings.
