They knew they picked the wrong store to rob when the T-Mobile employee drew his CCW and fired. It was too late, and they sustained multiple gunshots as they scrambled to leave the store.

Two men reportedly entered a Chicago T-Mobile store this week and pretended to shop for a few minutes. When the men pulled out their guns, one employee at the store ran to the back of the store to call for help.

The other employee, a concealed carry permit holder, pulled out a gun and shot the two suspects, striking them both.

Both suspects then reportedly fled the store and drove to a nearby hospital while the employee was on the phone with police.

The 24-year-old suspect was reportedly shot in the left arm and abdomen, while the 35-year-old suspect was shot in the left arm and groin. According to police, the two suspects are listed in serious condition. Their names have not been released.

District manager Neil Tadros says the situation may have turned out differently if it weren’t for the employee with the concealed carry permit.

“I think concealed carry is a great opportunity for managers, workers, employees to protect themselves in these cases,” Tadros told ABC News 7. “And our employee did a great job to protect themselves and the other employee.”

Neighboring businesses said that the T-Mobile store had been robbed several times within the last month.

“Thank God for concealed carry,” Tadros stated.

AJ Joudeh, the regional manager for the T-Mobile store, stated that employees with concealed carry permits are allowed to have their weapons on them at work.

Employees of stores like this could face a situation that puts their life in danger. They deserve to be prepared. Carrying a legally concealed weapon gives them the opportunity to defend themselves should the need arise.

Carrying concealed at the workplace requires extensive training to ensure employee and customer safety.
