Most non-gun people never heard the term “bump stock” until the news started reporting on what they were following the La Vegas shooting last October. Now, many people know what they are and people have gotten worried about them.
The Cincinnati City Council recently voted to ban them in city limits. So if you own one and you live in that part of Ohio, you are now a criminal. The vote passed 7-2 with two Republicans opposing it.
Violating the new city ordinance is a misdemeanor. According to the details, the ban on bump stocks takes effect immediately and Cincinnati residents who own such devices must get rid of them immediately.
