Every once in a while we get a press release that is about handguns but not about the typical handgun issues. This one that we got on May 2 was in that category.

Hampton & Weaver, a small company in Georgia, is making a collection of famous handguns of the world done as miniature replicas. The company’s website firearmsassurefreedom.com, currently shows three replicas with more on the way.

The first mini replica is the 1911 A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol, second is the Colt Single Action Army Revolver and the third is the P.08 Luger. The fourth one is the C96 Broomhandle Mauser. There are 12 guns in the whole collection. The remainder are the Webley Mark VI, the Colt Walker .44, Colt Python, Hi-Power, Auto Mag, S&W J-Frame, Beretta 92 and Glock.

All of these are historically interesting guns. The website gives some of the background of the guns in the collection. The 1911 served as the US Armed Forces firearm from 1911 to 1986. It was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. This replica is just 2 1/4 inches long and cast from zinc that is silver plated and antiqued. Each replica comes in a velvet presentation box with an ID tag identifying it.

Pretty good prices too…$20 plus each order comes with a free American flag pin or America pin.
