In Sidney, Ohio last week, a 27-year-old man had his weapon confiscated after it discharged in a Walmart. No one was hit when the gun fired, luckily.

Kevin Wilson was shopping in the Walmart about 5:30 pm when his semiautomatic weapon (no word on exactly what gun it was) discharged and sent a slug into the floor. After the incident, Wilson presented his concealed carry permit and police confiscated his weapon. He’s now being charged with a misdemeanor for discharging a weapon.

The article also doesn’t say what made the gun discharge or whether Wilson was handling it at the time. I wish the reporters would tell us this sort of thing! Did it fall out of his holster? Was he at the gun counter doing something with it when it went off?

New gun laws recently took effect in Ohio which stated that the owners of private businesses can’t ban guns from their property as long as the person has a valid concealed carry weapons permit and locks the handgun in a case in their vehicle.
